The Church “Starfish” Expanded Edition – Intervention Records 180g Vinyl

£49.95
The Church’s Starfish is a dreamy, atmospheric masterpiece, guitar-driven alt-rock before alt-rock was a term. It includes the timeless smash hit “Under the Milky Way,” and “Reptile,” both First Wave staples. Intervention’s 2X 180-Gram LP, Artist-Approved Expanded Edition is 18-tracks total, including 8 amazing bonus tracks that were not on the original LP. These bonus tracks kick off with wonderful acoustic versions of “Under the Milky Way” and “Antenna.” The other tracks are so strong that it’s very apparent that Starfish could have been a potent double LP.

The Duke Jordan Trio So Nice Duke XRCD24

£28.00
Superior Audiophile Sound on XRCD24!
Jazz pianist Duke Jordan is joined here by Jesper Lundgaard on bass and Aage Tanggaard on drums for a session recorded live at Nagaya on June 14, 1982. Jordan was born in New York and raised in Brooklyn. An imaginative and gifted pianist, Jordan was a regular member of Charlie Parker’s so-called “classic quintet” (1947–48), featuring Miles Davis. He participated in Parker’s Dial sessions in late 1947 that produced “Dewey Square,” “Bongo Bop,” “Bird of Paradise,” and the ballad “Embraceable You.” These performances are featured on Charlie Parker on Dial.

The Fabulous Fats Navarro Vol. 1 Tone Poet Classic Vinyl Series

£29.95
The prodigiously talented trumpeter Fats Navarro was a bebop innovator whose career was cut tragically short when he died in 1950 at age 26. As part of the 1500 series Blue Note later compiled this 12” LP with selections from various dates Fats had featured on from 1947–49 with the Tadd Dameron Sextet, Bud Powell Quintet, and the McGhee-Navarro Boptet.
This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is mono, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original masters, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

The Groundhogs – Scratching The Surface – Pure Pleasure Records 180G Vinyl

£27.95
The Groundhogs' debut album is a long way from the "classic" sound of the better-known Thank Christ for the Bomb/Split/Who Will Save the World? trilogy. Indeed, the mellow classic blues through which the band pursues its nine tracks offer the unsuspecting listener little more than a direct blast from the peak of the British blues boom past.

The Ornette Coleman Double Quartet: Free Jazz Speakers Corner 180g Vinyl

£35.00
The term ‘free jazz’ was already in existence – but it had a quite different meaning, namely jazz without paying for an entrance ticket. The album “Free Jazz”, however, was intended to lend its name to a quite different style of jazz. ‘Free’ playing – now this meant that no one was bound to conventions, you could let your imagination run loose. Free jazz gave one the chance to find new rules for every new composition. And it was to be the greatest boost to innovation in the world of jazz. Ornette Coleman’s album from December 1960 stands at the beginning of the free jazz era like a massive portal.

The Oscar Peterson Trio – West Side Story – Verve 200g 45 RPM Vinyl

£75.00
One of the first Broadway musical scores to be overtly jazz-influenced was Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, a tale of rival street gangs in the inner city. In 1962, pianist Oscar Peterson put his light-swing signature on the already popular score, making it, in the words of one critic, "a delight to hear again" and earning him a Grammy nomination.
Originally released in 1962

The Soulful Moods of Gene Ammons – Analogue Productions Prestige (Stereo) 180g Vinyl

£49.95
Part of the ultimate audiophile Prestige stereo reissues from Analogue Productions — 25 of the most collectible, rarest, most audiophile-sounding Rudy Van Gelder recordings ever made. All cut at 33 1/3 All mastered from the original analog master tapes by mastering maestro Kevin Gray. 180-gram LPs pressed at Acoustic Sounds' state-of-the-art pressing plant, Quality Record Pressings, plated by Gary Salstrom Tip-on jackets on thick cardboard stock One of the best efforts from Ammons' extensive catalog. A fat, warm, rich sax tone — you know, the one you immediately identify as Jug — is on display in all its glory on this great Moodsville release. Feeling tired and stressed out? Give Uncle Gene a spin. Besides perfect pitch, Ammons' other special gift was a melodic sense that allowed him to effectively convey feelings at slow tempos. Here is a great jazz ballad player given full scope to spin his charms." — Stereophile, February 1995

The Thelonious Monk Quartet ‎– Straight No Chaser 180g Audiophile Vinyl

£75.00
180-GRAM 33RPM 2LP SET This mid-period masterwork from jazz piano’s most uncommon voice find Monk and his quartet ( Charlie Rouse on tenor, Ben Riley on drums and Larry Gales on bass) exploring every texture, tone and melodic turn of seven expansive tracks. This group was subtle, mature and confident, easily supporting Monk’s more idiosyncratic side-tracks (check out the solo on “Locomotive” or the restless exposition on “Japanese Folk Song”) while allowing listeners freedom to move through or contemplate all the sublime subtexts Monk conjures from the endless well of his inspiration.
